AACTA INTERNATIONAL AWARDS 2014 - NOMINATIONS

AACTA INTERNATIONAL AWARDS: OUR NODS TO US
They are called the International Awards, but AACTA’s nominees for non-Australian films are all American – although a few of the actors and directors aren’t.

Of the 15 films nominated in the seven categories, American Hustle has the most nominations - one in every category – with 12 Years a Slave having six.

Aussie director Baz Luhrmann is nominated for The Great Gatsby but the film isn’t in the running for Best Film; Cate Blanchett, Geoffrey Rush and Joel Edgerton have acting nominations, the latter two in the same category – Supporting Actor.

These awards are voted for by the 80 + members of AACTA’s International Chapter, which is comprised of invited members of the various craft guilds and professional associations, and invited members of AMPAS and ABFTA.
