UPCOMING MOVIES 2014 - PLENTY OF CHOICE

This year will be a fantastic year for sequels, remakes and some of the best writers and directors in cinema. These are just five of a litany of great films to emerge this year and details of their Australian releases.

Noah - 27th March
An American “Biblical epic” directed by the incredible Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan, Requiem For A Dream), written by Aronofsky and Ari Handel, who collaborated on The Fountain, The Wrestler and Black Swan and scoring by Clint Mansell, as in all of Aronofsky's films. Based on the stories of Noah in the Bible, it deals with the survivor's guilt after the event, and stars Russell Crowe, Anthony Hopkins, Emma Watson and Jennifer Connolly.

Muppets Most Wanted - 24th April
The much-anticipated sequel to the 2011 film The Muppets, Most Wanted will see The Muppets setting off on a European theatre tour which sees them becoming involved in international crime thanks to a Kermit look-a-like. The musical mystery comedy will feature Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell and Tina Fey as a Russian GULAG officer, and if it's anything like the first one it'll be a laugh riot.

X-Men: Days of Future Past – 22nd May Based on the 1981 comic storyline in Uncanny X-Men, Days of Future Past will become the seventh film in the X-Men series and a sequel to The Last Stand, First Class and Wolverine. The members of the original X-Men trilogy will team up with their younger selves from the First Class film to fight a war for the survival of their species taking place across two time periods. It will be directed by Bryan Singer, who was responsible for X-Men 1 and 2, the most successful films of the franchise so far.

Heat – 7th August in USA, unknown release date for Australia
Another remake for the list, Heat is based on the 1985 William Goldman novel of the same name and the 1985 film starring Burt Reynolds. The script is written by Goldman himself and stars Jason Statham as a recovering gambling addict who takes security jobs in Las Vegas to feed his habit. A classic approach to the gambling lifestyle, it certainly won't be the safe and enjoyable kind of gambling you can enjoy on online casino sites, such Euro Palace where you can play Euro Palace Mobile Casino Games but with the supporting cast including Stanley Tucci and Sofia Vergara it should be just as entertaining.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 - 20th November
The third of the Hunger Games films and the penultimate movie, this year's film will be based on the first half of the final book. Directed by Francis Lawrence and written by Danny Strong, the story will mostly deal with Katniss's reluctance in rebelling against the Capitol and finding out who she can trust, and what really needs to be done. For fans of the franchise it's unmissable, and will also feature one of the last filmed performances from the recently deceased Phillip Seymour Hoffman.

The choice of films coming to cinema this year is going to be immense; prepare yourself for a year busy with cinema trips!
